 It is my distinct honor to welcome you to the digital home of the Rho Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the 2008 International Chapter of the Year. The 2009 fiscal year was a great year for the chapter. We increased our commitment to the community by raising more money for scholarship and increased our service by spending over one thousand hours uplifting the Houston-Galveston community. This year’s plans are even bigger and better! Our motto for 2010 is “Building Stronger Bridges for Our Community”. Education is the bridge we use to take us from poverty to prosperity. It gives the youth tools to persevere through tough times, and to excel in the face of adversity. This year Rho Nu will increase our annual Thomas H. Warren Scholarship, given to a local high school senior. In 2009, we raised over $2,500.00 for scholarships through our gas raffle, football raffle, and “Ques and Dawgs” party. The chapter also continued our Alvin Stevenson Adopt-A-School Program, donating over $5,000.00 worth of school supplies to L.A. Morgan Elementary in Galveston, Texas. We will continue our participation in Texas General Land Office’s Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup, the Charles R. Drew Memorial Blood Drive, and the Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner Delivery. In addition to the Charles R. Drew Blood Drive, we will hold at least two additional blood drives throughout the year. The chapter will also hold voter registration and canned food drives.
